Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children Training Seminar

I want to share with you an upcoming educational opportunity here in Chicago. The commercial sexual exploitation of children and youth is a horrific type of trauma. The focus of this training is on understanding how to best work with those who have and continue to be traumatized in  this way. The focus is on working with those within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) communities:

One of the featured presenters is Prax(us), a Colorado based organization dedicated to ending human trafficking:

We address the root causes of exploitation by creating systemic change and providing direct services through a comprehensive street outreach program. We conduct street outreach through a harm-reduction lens that supports youth agency and facilitates access to resources.  We achieve systemic change through community organizing, collaborative relationships, community education, and policy work.

The seminar is Sponsored by the Salvation Army PROMISE Program and hosted by the Center on Halsted. More information and registration forms are available here.
